Recording & Exporting
Create video files of your MIDI visualizations to share on social media, YouTube, and more.
Recording Mode
Section titled “Recording Mode”Recording captures your visualization as a video file during playback.
Enabling Recording
Section titled “Enabling Recording”- In Play Preview, find the recording options panel
- Toggle Record to ON (bottom right, beneath the video preview)
- Configure your format and quality (see below)
- Click Apply to save settings
- Click Play to start playback with recording
NOTE: Audio is not included (add music in post-production with your preferred video editor)
Format & Quality

Quality Options
Section titled “Quality Options”| Quality | Description | File Size |

Choose based on your needs:
- Light — Good for drafts
- Regular — Good for sharing, social media
- Enhanced — Harder to run, best quality
Output Location
Section titled “Output Location”Where Videos Are Saved
Section titled “Where Videos Are Saved”All recorded videos are saved to your Videos folder:
- Default location:
Documents/Comet/Videos/ - View/open this folder in Settings → General → Videos Folder
File Naming
Section titled “File Naming”Videos are automatically named based on:
- Song name
- Timestamp
- Format extension (
.webmor.mp4)
Recording Tips
Section titled “Recording Tips”- Apply before playing — Make sure to click Apply so your configuration is locked in
- Close other applications — Free up system resources for smoother recording
- Use Portrait for social media — 1:1 aspect ratio works best for Instagram/TikTok
- Use Landscape for YouTube — 16:9 is the standard for video platforms
- Check disk space — Videos can be large, especially at high quality
After Recording
Section titled “After Recording”When playback completes:
- A notification confirms the recording was saved
- Navigate to your Videos folder to find the file
- Add music in your preferred video editor
- Share your creation!
